TweetFreak has posted about the Current TwitteRFP that began on Thursday. I submitted for OLSON and have been monitoring the streams for the last few days. It is pretty amazing how many agencies submitted. How many went to great lengths to try and rise above the noise and "get noticed."
Although getting noticed wasn't really the goal, as Jordan Kretchmer was clearly making a super attempt to respond to every actual entry, personally. This alone is an amazing feet, considering how much noise there was in the stream of @ replies sent in his direction.
I admire my local agencies entries, they are well thought, if quick submissions that attempt to put a light on how they get Social Media.
I was surprised at the number specialist agencies and shops with only a handful of people that responded. The twitteRFP requested full service agencies and just because they are a web entity does not mean that they do not NEED exposure in the offline world. That said, it brings up a point that I will have to try and write about soon, "What constitutes a Full Service Agency? And are they going the way of the Full Service Gas Station?"
All in all, it was fun. A super idea. I can't wait to see what happens next and I hope to make the shortlist of at least one TwitteRFP in the near future!
Good Luck to everyone! I am rooting for the Audience Agency and of course, OLSON.

First of all, I had those same glasses.
Second, I know a mom who has never used the internet. No, really...she doesn't have email, does not have a computer. She feels she is too busy for computers and the internet. Perhaps I should somehow get her to watch this video.
Third, I keep forgetting that the Internet delivers marginally hot young men with Fabio hair.

I haven't had a great evening of actual Scrabble play in ages. We instead, perhaps ironically play a French card game called Tarot. Our love and dependence upon Facebook's Lexulous has clearly depleted our collective desire to get an actual board out and have face to face fun.
This ad actually makes me want to give it a go, which great and exactly what it should make me want to do. I am also curious about the editions being sold elsewhere. I could see buying a board or two that were localized to places outside of the U.S.
Great art, good song, super game!

I love the line, "comes in yackety-yacking..." and that he mentions that it is easily digestible. Shouldn't all food be fairly easy to digest?

The Tea Bagging has gone to hilarious and damaging (at least for the poor kids wit the hats) lengths. (No seriously, at some point that kid is going to find urban dictionary and learn what Tea Bagging means...he will then realize that his photos is all over the internets forever with him wearing a hat with Tea Bags on them!!! Worse still, his best friend will also learn this and have the photo and well he do what bf's do...find every way possible to humiliate, torture, and ruin every chance Senor Tea Bag has with some pretty girl.)
I may have just written a treatment for a Luke Wilson romantic comedy, just now.
So, people are calling themselves Tea Baggers and they are Tea Bagging and they are making their children Tea Bag....in public.
The sad thing is that they do not even have the history right. It is a poor reference, that is completely unrelated to today's reality.
The sadder thing is that they are of the party that approved the bailout funds that were given without any strings attached. They are of the party that spent more than the bailouts on an unpopular war. They are of the party that wants to control people's rights, but they do not want to pay for the effects of any of that control. Huh.
Even with all of that....LMAO. SRSLY. TEA BAG?

I just left a comment on the Advert Fan site about the latest offering of Crispin, Porter & Bogusky. You go there to watch the thing, I don't like it...so it is not going to be posted here.
My comment is below, but first in the interest of full disclosure. I don't like any of the work for Burger King. I am not their market, so I figured that was fine. They were doing great work for THEIR market. I am however a Mom with a young son that would probably love for me to take him to Burger King (I won't) and has loved Sponge Bob for years. I am also the mother of a daughter that is in her teens and thankfully never watches television and therefore has been able to avoid all the pitfalls of negative body imaginary that it offers up in huge doses every second of the day. The trouble lies with that fact that they have recently decided to defend this commercial by saying it is not geared towards kids, but towards the parents of kids. Okay, well now I am their market and I still hate the spot.
Also, I love the original song, always have...I just don't love it in this context.
My comment on the Advert Fan site:
Not funny. Stupid.
Let’s for a second think about the 5 to 10 year old crowd that is
the target market for Sponge Bob. Then let’s consider them seeing the
Burger King measuring a woman’s squared backside, add in to that the
fact that they are dressed like tarty school girls. Was the goal of
this spot to turn the Tots who love Sponge Bob on???
Are we trying to make them want Burger King kids meals because of Sponge Bob or or Sponge Butts and Boobs???
They could have been clever and instead, they decided to be crass.
The Burger King is played. The Brand is only appealing to young men that love movies such as Jackass and with that they shouldn’t even bother with a kids meal. I would blame Nickelodeon, too. However, they recently had the Pussy Cat Dolls perform for the Kids Choice Awards. So, clearly they do not care about the fragile esteems of their young female audience.

Reflecting the dramatic growth in the agency's interactive division, and to better align her title with her superstar work, Louise Dengerud has been promoted from associate account director to account director at OLSON. "The work that we're doing for our clients is changing the landscape for interactive, and it keeps them coming back for the newest ideas. As a lifetime resident of MPLS and the Midwest in general, I am always peeved when fashion stars from NYC or otherwise mention their disdain for this local or worse their insistence that we know nothing of Fashion.
I have been reading Vogue since I was 10 years old. I have known about Alexander McQueen from the moment he stepped on to the stage. I am not alone, MPLS is filled with inspired fashion stars. A strong design community and lovers of all things fashion-ey.
Hence, the multitude of Fashion Shows and Fashion Design Events springing up in the last few years. The Envision show is just one of many, that include designs from local designers. stylists, etc.
Now as much as I LOVE that we are beginning to develop this strong Fashion community....I have to say, "SRSLY?" When it comes to some of the "designs" walking down the runway. Not to mention the sad state of the "Looks" given most of the models. It seemed to be mostly an instance of electro-shock hair meets clown make-up or worse still...no "look" at all as is evident in this particular photo.
I am excited for the progress, but so disappointed by the end results. I fear that the 100's of comments stating how fashion ignorant my hometown must be due to its general location of Tundra/Prairie/North woods junction is still quite true.
